National Council President Tomislav Nikolić chairs the Council’s first session
President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China Tomislav Nikolić chaired the first session of the National Council, attended by its Members serving ex officio: Ms. Zorana Mihajlović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure; Mr. Goran Knežević, Minister of Economy; Mr. Branislav Nedimović, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management; Mr. Aleksandar Antić, Minister of Mining and Energy; Mr. Vladan Vukosavljević, Minister of Culture and Information; Ms. Mirjana Ćojbašić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance; Ms. Ana Langović Milićević, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. The session was also attended by the following Members of the National Council: Mr. Ivan Mrkić, Mr. Dejan Simić, Mr. Milan Tadić and Acting Director at the Office of the National Council Mr. Nedeljko Tenjović.

The first Council session introduced the Members to the previous course of Serbia’s cooperation with Russia and China. The Members welcomed the establishment of the new institution, agreeing that the Council had the task to assist the Government of Serbia to ensure a more efficient cooperation with Russia and China by coordinating activities with the Ministries, in the interest of growth and further acceleration of Serbia’s development.
Council Members agreed that regular information sharing was vital for further advancement of Serbia’s collaboration with both Russia and China. They also decided to examine and assess the harmonized activities in regular meetings.
