National Council President Tomislav Nikolić meets Ambassador of the Russian Federation Alexander Chepurin

President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China Tomislav Nikolić had a meeting with Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia Alexander Chepurin.

In the meeting, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the state of the overall bilateral relations. The interlocutors showed special interest in the advancement of economic cooperation and explored, in that regard, concrete possibilities and plans that could be implemented in the coming period. On the occasion, Council President Nikolić and Ambassador Chepurin also discussed the preparations leading up to the approaching Belgrade session of the Intergovernmental Committee on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, to take place in late November 2017; they also touched on the role of the National Council and the schedule of meetings for the two countries’ officials and entrepreneurs by the end of 2017 and in early 2018.

Ambassador Chepurin introduced Council President Nikolić to the groundwork for several projects which would help improve economic cooperation and expand trade, adding that they could be implemented in the next two to three years.

Council President Nikolić highlighted that Serbia was interested in deepening economic ties with Russia, being absolutely prepared to set in motion all the arrangements reinforcing the Serbia-Russia collaboration and promoting Russian investments in Serbia.
