National Council President Nikolić meets Ambassador of P. R. China to discuss priority projects at the core of Serbia-China economic cooperation
President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China Tomislav Nikolić had a meeting today with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Serbia Li Manchang.

In line with the established practice, Ambassador Li Manchang informed Council President Nikolić about the priority projects at the core of the Serbia-China economic cooperation. In the meeting, the interlocutors particularly discussed the Mining and Smelting Combine Bor and the upcoming arrivals of Chinese companies interested in overtaking the Bor Combine and in new investments. China’s Ambassador informed Mr. Nikolić that certain Chinese entrepreneurs had the intention to set up a cardboard packaging factory in Serbia, and that the talks on the subject were ongoing. Ambassador Li Manchang underlined that he would duly notify Mr. Nikolić about the visit to be made by the President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Ambassador also acquainted President Nikolić with the course of preparations for the establishment of the association of entrepreneurs from Serbia and China.
Mr. Nikolić also spoke to Ambassador Li Manchang about the construction of a refinery and gas-powered plants in Serbia, asking the Chinese side to consider the possibility of cooperation with “Tigar JSC” from Pirot.
