The Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China continue to build good relations at all levels, and the success achieved by a number of agreements signed between them at the China – CEEC Summit recently held in Budapest testifies to the fact. The Serbia-China relations are an excellent example of cooperation within the “16 + 1” initiative, with China being one of Serbia’s major partners. The National Council will continue to lend its full and unequivocal support to the further enhancement of economic relations between the two countries, and to the collaboration between China’s provinces and Serbia’s local authorities.

The Nantong delegation, headed by Ma Xiaoping, underlined the importance of the comprehensive strategic partnership forged by former President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolić and President of China Xi Jinping. “Today’s meeting with you and our delegation’s visit to Serbia both confirm that the “One Belt One Road” initiative will be continued. We would like to deepen the two countries’ relations in areas of infrastructure, agriculture, telecommunications, culture and tourism, and we are particularly interested in the enhancement of cooperation between the cities of the two countries. We would like to apply the existing interstate-level cooperation mechanism to the local level, too, in order for our cities to carry out and arrange a growing number of joint projects”, the representatives of Nantong underscored.
