Council President Nikolić meets a delegation from Fujian led by Member of the Province’s CPC Standing Committee Liang Jianyong

President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China Tomislav Nikolić had a meeting today with a delegation from the Province of Fujian, led by Member of the Fujian Province CPC Standing Committee Liang Jianyong. The delegation has been visiting Serbia at Mr. Nikolić’s invitation.

Council President Nikolić underlined that both economic and political relations with China were very good, expressing his expectation that economic cooperation with China would make a stronger headway in the coming period. He said that the initial Sino-Serbian collaboration involved large infrastructural facilities, adding that we had to step up cooperation in areas of tourism, agriculture, energy, sports and culture, and first and foremost on joint manufacturing undertakings.

“China is developing its economic relations with Serbia based on respect for the values of friendship, culture, history and tradition”, Tomislav Nikolić underlined. “We are content with all the Chinese companies operating in Serbia and we have an extraordinary relationship with the Embassy of China to Serbia. With the Bank of China supporting development projects in Serbia, we need to boost our cooperation in every possible way”, he said.

Mr. Liang Jianyong highlighted that “Serbia and China shared a long-lasting friendship”, bringing out the prosperous collaboration between the two countries in sectors of energy and production. While introducing the Province of Fujian, he emphasized that the visit was very important for strengthening mutual relations and trade-economic cooperation, and for energizing tourist exchange. The visit aims to execute projects agreed between President Xi Jinping and President Nikolić and projects related to the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.

Mr. Liang Jianyong emphasized that he expected the National Council, steered by Mr. Nikolić, to make a large contribution to the cooperation, inviting him to visit the Province.
