Council President Nikolić: “Shandong companies’ good experience with doing business in Serbia is a solid basis encouraging other Chinese businesses to follow suit”

President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China Tomislav Nikolić had a meeting with Vice Governor of the Province of Shandong, Mr. Wang Shujian.

In a cordial and open conversation, Council President Nikolić underlined his readiness to lend further support to specific cooperation projects between Serbia and Shandong. Mr. Nikolić emphasized that the Shandong companies’ good experience with doing business in Serbia was a solid basis encouraging other Chinese businesses to follow suit. He added that the friendship between the two peoples and the mutually beneficial projects were a very good precondition for joint economic cooperation, expected to further diversify and to become even more deeply rooted.

Mr. Wang Shujian underlined that Mr. Nikolić was an old friend of China, conveying his gratitude for Mr. Nikolić’s years-long efforts aimed at cementing the bonds between China and Serbia. He also expressed the interest of Shandong to further collaborate with Serbia on infrastructural projects and joint production of agricultural commodities for the fast-growing Chinese market.

Several companies from Shandong are operating on the Serbian market, including the renowned infrastructure construction company Shandong Hi-Speed, tire-manufacturer Shandong Linglong and the home appliances manufacturer Hisense.
