You have made a significant contribution to establishing and developing a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Serbia

President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China Tomislav Nikolić talked to Mr. Tian, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, who delivered to Mr. Nikolić a letter of gratitude signed by China’s President Xi Jinping.

President Xi’s letter reads as follows:

“I would like to thank you sincerely for the congratulatory message addressed to me on the occasion of my birthday. You have made a significant contribution to establishing and developing a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Serbia during your term of office as Head of State. I am confident that under you leadership, the National Council for Russia and China will boost the practical cooperation between China and Serbia and the promotion of friendship between the two peoples. I wish you good health and every success in your work”.  

In the talks, the collocutors noted that the previous Sino-Serbian projects were developing with success. The National Council President underlined that in addition to the Belgrade-Budapest rail modernization, the Belgrade-Niš and Belgrade-Pirot railroads should be given a serious consideration as well. “China is assisting Serbia a lot on its development path, and the success of Sino-Serbian bilateral cooperation encourages other SEE countries to engage more closely in cooperation with China. President Xi and I share a personal friendship, and I am looking forward to his own success and to the success of China”, Council President Nikolić underlined.
