Council President Nikolić receives a letter of invitation to the People to People China-CEEC conference (17+1) from Ambassador Chen Bo

President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China Tomislav Nikolić received today Ms. Chen Bo, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, at her request.

The Ambassador presented to Mr. Nikolić the official letter of invitation to the People to People China-CEEC conference, due to take place between 13 and 15 April 2020 in the City of Jinang, Shandong Province. The letter was addressed to him by Ms. Li Xiaolin of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, which is hosting the conference together with the Shandong Provincial People’s Government. The conference is a lead-in for the the China-CEEC Summit (17+1), to be held in Beijing.

On the occasion, Ambassador Chen Bo informed Mr. Nikolić about the situation in China and the efforts and measures taken with regard to the coronavirus epidemic, as well as the measures taken by the Embassy of China with the aim of preventing the virus from being brought in to Serbia by any national of China. Moreover, the Ambassador updated Mr. Nikolić on the ongoing projects carried out by major Chinese companies, adding that the Embassy of China only expected brief postponements in project realization.

The Ambassador expressed her particular gratitude for the friendship that Serbia had shown in the currently difficult time for China, and she emphasized the gratitude of the authorities and of the people of China for the support and concrete assistance.
