Secretary of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee sends Letter of Appreciation to Council President Nikolić

President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China Tomislav Nikolić has received a Letter of Appreciation dated 26 January 2021 from Secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee Yin Li. The letter reads as follows:

“Dear Mr. Tomislav Nikolic,

Please allow me to express my appreciation for your congratulations on my new appointment at the beginning of this New Year.

In recent years, with the strong support of the Republic of Serbia’s National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, Fujian has engaged in a wide range of productive exchanges and cooperation with Serbia under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-CEEC (17+1) cooperation. In 2018, Zijin Mining Group acquired the copper complex RTB Bor. In 2019, Netdragon (Fujian) and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development (MoESTD) of Serbia signed an MOU on cooperation in the Smart Education program, and last year they officially launched its first joint project by establishing the Center for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Education. When Serbia was invited as the Guest Country of Honor for the 2019 CIFIT, you personally headed a delegation to attend the fair and achieved fruitful results. Thanks to your support and commitment, in June of 2020, Fujian Province and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina signed the Agreement on the Establishment of Sister Province Relationship via video link, opening up a new chapter of friendly cooperation between both sides. We have full confidence in and great expectation for our future cooperation and would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for what you have done to promote the friendship between our two provinces.

We in Fujian Province have always attached great importance to the relationship with Serbia and actively worked to enhance mutual understanding and deepen our cooperation in such areas as economy, trade, tourism, culture and education. I’m ready to work with you to advance our friendship and cooperation further. Today, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, we have been putting into practice the guiding principles of the Fifth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth CPC Central Committee and scientifically mapping out the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035 to write a Fujian chapter on our journey towards building a modern socialist country in an all-round way, which will provide a much broader space for cooperation down the road. Fujian, being the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road and the Core Area of the Twenty-First Century Maritime Silk Road, is leveraging its combined strengths to accelerate its cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road. I’m convinced that as long as we adhere to the principles of openness, shared benefits and win-win cooperation, we will continue to break new ground and yield rich fruits in our exchanges and cooperation.
