Council President in meeting with China Energy company representatives

President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China Tomislav Nikolić held talks today with a delegation representing China Energy, a China-based company headed by the company’s Serbian Office General Manager Mr. Wang Xuan.

“Sino-Serbian cooperation is on a constant upswing. The general public is relatively unfamiliar with the fact that China Energy participated in the implementation of the Pančevo Combined Cycle Power Plant project. The National Council has been working on a gas-fired combined cycle plant project in Kragujevac for several years. China Energy possesses the technology for all types of sources of renewable energy, harmless to the environment, and today’s crisis has laid bare the fact that solar and wind power should be tapped into progressively and that as much energy as possible should be generated in one’s own territory. Serbia remains open to all initiatives you put forward,” Council President Nikolić underlined.

Mr. Wang Xuan thanked Mr. Nikolić for the reception bestowed upon his delegation, stressing that China Energy is the largest energy group in China. The main task that the Government of the People’s Republic of China has entrusted with the company refers to the segment of renewable energy project investments. “Our company looks forward to the Serbian Government’s support in the fields of energy and infrastructure alike,” he added.
