Serbia ready to further deepen cooperation with Chinese partners

Serbia ready to further deepen cooperation with Chinese partners

President of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China Tomislav Nikolić talked to Mr. Lin Ge, Vice Chair of the CPPCC Hangzhou Municipal Committee.

“We are very pleased for the opportunity to come to Serbia after President Xi Jinping’s visit. We are grateful to you personally for the selfless promotion of Sino-Serbian relations and for the coordination of cooperation between our two countries. The aim of our visit is to establish closer cooperation with Belgrade and Niš. Investors from Hangzhou are interested in investing in Serbia, which is the reason why the visit of the Governor of Zhejiang, due to take place next month, is being arranged. I am aware that the idea of building smart cities has taken root in Serbia. We in Hangzhou are experienced in building smart cities and we can transfer the know-how to our friends in Serbia. I would also like to avail myself of this opportunity to invite the representatives of Serbia to take part in the third Global Digital Trade Expo, to take place in September; the Expo is considered to be part of our country’s strategy to promote digital trade and build China’s reputation for global trade excellence,” Mr. Lin Ge underlined.

“The number of Chinese delegations visiting Serbia with the aim of exploring the opportunities for our further cooperation has been on the rise since President Xi Jinping’s recent visit. I am aware that Hangzhou is the seat of huge tech companies operating globally. I had the opportunity to visit some extremely successful Chinese companies such as HikVision and Alibaba Group. Hangzhou’s economic results are at an enviable level and I hope that you will strike closer cooperation with both Belgrade and Niš, where you stayed over the past two days. Serbia stands ready to further deepen its relations with Chinese partners and to implement new projects, to our mutual benefit, especially in tandem with cities such as Hangzhou, whose GDP amounts to about USD 280 billion. China is helping Serbia to make headway in the best possible way; therefore we are going to consider your invitation for our representatives to participate in the Trade Expo. May the saying ʻParadise in Heaven, Hangzhou on Earthʼ always apply to your city,” Council President Nikolić stressed.
